Yiddish Kitchen Physics Pot Holders (Set of 2)
Yiddish Kitchen Physics Pot Holders (Set of 2)
Bring some Yiddish into your kitchen while celebrating the most Jewish of the hard sciences — physics. True story: Nazi Germany rejected foundational nuclear physics and Einstein's Theory of Relativity as "Jewish science," preferring other, wronger Deutsche Physik. The Universe remained unpersuaded.
This set contains two high-quality pot holders suitable for removing potato kugel from the oven, and probably other things [citation needed]:
Gefilte Fission - Also known as a Chrain Reaction, this design salutes the pioneering work of Jewish physicists like Lise Meitner, Otto Frisch, Robert Oppenheimer, Leo Szilard and others.
Newton's Knaidel - the classic Newton's Cradle physics toy gets a matzo ball makeover. So what if Newton wasn't Jewish? His name is Isaac, he wrote in Hebrew, studied Maimonides, and didn't write anything overtly antisemitic (we're looking at you, Shakespeare...).
Each pot holder has a hanging loop and sleeve on the front so it can double as an over mitt. The back side has a hot pad that can also be used as a trivet.
Pot holders measure 9 x 7.5 inches.
